For our new Machine Learning group, we are looking for a

(Senior) Software Engineer – Machine Learning

This is a varied role at the intersection of (big) data processing, search, machine learning and data visualization. You are expected to write production-ready code for our data analytics framework that distills knowledge from textual data in the medical domain. You are also expected to contribute to its analytics and data visualization capabilities.

Your qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Solid experience developing with modern programming languages such as Java and/or Python.
  • Experience with various Big Data approaches, search architectures and machine learning algorithms, as well as relevant open-source toolkits.
  • Ability and willingness to write scalable production code as well as to work on more experimental research questions.
  • Basic knowledge of German. (Some of the NLP algorithms we work with run on German text).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with Lucene/Elasticsearch.
  • Experience in data visualization, e.g. with D3.js
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch.
  • Solid working knowledge of German.
