Long-term care and long-term care insurance in Germany face enormous challenges. As a result of demographic change, demand for professional care services is rising steadily, while shortages in care staff are also becoming more severe. People in need of care and their families require care services tailored to their needs. Ensuring a high-quality care system that remains financially sustainable is a challenge for society as a whole.
The IGES Institut provides comprehensive research and consulting services in the field of long-term care. Our many years of expertise range from analysing long-term care needs and developing innovative models of care to evaluating measures for quality assurance, care workforce training and staff recruitment.
In its research and consulting work in long-term care, IGES adopts a comprehensive approach that addresses the different dimensions of the challenges facing care provision and develops robust scientific strategies for tackling them. In this context, the perspectives of people in need of care and their relatives, as well as those of professional care staff, healthcare providers and payers, are taken into account in order to develop sustainable and workable approaches.
