Inpatient care in Germany is undergoing profound change. With around 1,900 hospitals and approximately 480,000 beds, the hospital sector is a central pillar of healthcare provision, but it faces considerable structural challenges. Responsibility for hospital structures is spread among various stakeholders at federal and federal state level. This creates tension between regional healthcare planning and overarching health policy objectives.
The IGES Institut provides comprehensive research and consulting services relating to all aspects of the hospital sector. This work is carried out in cooperation with its subsidiary IMC clinicon, a consulting and service provider specialising in hospitals and offering benchmarking, analysis and strategic consulting for the inpatient sector.
IGES' expertise in inpatient care ranges from the analysis of healthcare structures and the evaluation of planning and financing systems to the development of sustainable models of care for the future.
In our hospital-sector projects, we combine in-depth scientific expertise with practical advice, while systematically factoring in the complex health policy, economic and medical framework conditions in the hospital sector.
